In a historic moment on September 8, 2018, Idukki Diocesan Bishop Mar John Nellikunnel laid the foundation stone for the new church. Fast forward to January 18, 2024, and Major Archbishop Mar Raphel Thattil blessed the newly constructed church, elevating it to Major Arch Episcopal Pilgrimage status.
