Varapuzha Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, popularly known as Varapuzha Church is a place with historical value and importance. This is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in India, built in the year 1673 this Church was the seat of the Metropolitans until 1904 and was the first head quarters of the Archdiocese of Verapoly. Church contains mortal remains of 28 saintly missionaries. In preparations to be raised as Basilica the current renovations has been done.
